Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich both scored within the first half hour on the way to a 1-1 draw Saturday that ended with Jurgen Klopp and Jupp Heynckes avoiding each other. With Bayern already Bundesliga champions this season, the match was rather meaningless from a domestic league perspective, but as a prelude to their meeting in the Champions League final it provided a glimpse of the fury to come.
Bayern defender Rafinha was booked twice in two minutes shortly after the hour mark, the second awarded for an elbow to the face of Jakub Blaszczykowski. Rafinha made it clear that he was not pleased with the decision.
As Rafinha headed towards the tunnel, he yelled at Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp, who then went nose to nose with Bayern sporting director Matthias Sammer.
And just for good measure, Thomas Muller and Felipe Santana also made faces at each other.
Some Dortmund fans were more concerned with a future opponent than their current ones, though. Using the match as an opportunity to once again express their anger with Mario Gotze, who will leave Die Schwarzgelben for Bayern this summer, they held up banners that read, "The pursuit of money shows how much heart you really have. Piss off, Gotze!”and wore shirts with his name and numbers crossed out. He was injured and unable to play.
