19-year-old Rapid Vienna defender sent off one minute into his league debut

Rapid Vienna's 19-year-old defender Maximilian Hofmann made his Austrian Bundesliga debut by starting in his side's match against Sturm Graz. And 60 seconds later, his day was ended by his first career red card.

Hofmann was sent off for a tackle from behind in that box that denied Sturm Graz forward Robert Beric a clear scoring chance. So after Hofmann trudged off before he could even break a sweat, Sturm Graz converted the early penalty to go up 1-0. But to make Hofmann feel ever so slightly better about things, Rapid Vienna scored four goals in the second half despite playing nearly the entire match with 10 men and won 4-2.

Since Hofmann is still a teenager and he has a whole career ahead of him, things can only get better for him. Maybe in his next match he will last 120 seconds.
