Worker injured by bobsled during preparatory run

A worker at the Sochi bobsled track was struck by a bobsled just prior to the start of the two-man bobsled training. The worker has a broken leg and potentially a concussion, according to the AP.

The worker was struck by a forerunner, a bobsled sent down the track prior to training beginning. As USA Today notes, track announcers will say "Sled on the tracks" to prepare workers for the impending arrival of a sled.

"We still do not know why he was in this zone and exactly what happened," IOC president Thomas Bach said. "The information we have so far is that he has a broken leg and maybe a concussion. We are following up on this matter."

Below, some photos of the crash scene:

The session was delayed about 35 minutes while workers tended to the track.
