Elvis Stojko talks skating tonight - live chat

As always, the most emotional event of the Winter Olympics has been figure skating. First we had the drama around the men’s competition late last week, with controversy surrounding gold medalist Evan Lysacek and Evgeni Plushenko. Then came the tragedy of the death of Therese Rochette, mother of Canadian skater Joannie Rochette.

Meanwhile, rumours swirled throughout the weekend and into Monday that something rotten might be invading the ice dance competition. Whisperings persist that Russia has been promised a gold medal in this event; but that seems unlikely, as the current leaders, Canadians Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, received a score some 5.57 points higher than the Russians’ in the original dance on Sunday night. In fact, the Russians fell back to third place, behind the American team of Meryl Davis and Charlie White as well.

So the stage is set for some high drama Monday night. No North American team has ever won gold; the Russians are the reigning world champions. Something’s bound to break.

Join us at 10 PM EST/7 PM PST as former Olympian and world champion Elvis Stojko breaks down the final groupings and takes us through the top free dance pairs while answering your questions.
