Watch Nick Schmaltz's stunning goal for North Dakota (Video)

North Dakota’s men’s hockey team won its second straight Penrose Cup Friday night by clinching the NCHC title with an 8-1 win over Western Michigan.

In a way, the game was like watching the Harlem Globetrotters, with the Fighting Hawks scoring a number of highlight-reel goals during the win.

The best of the night? Probably this one from Chicago Blackhawks prospect Nick Schmaltz, who corralled a pass between his legs, then proceeded to dangle around Broncos netminder Trevor Gorsuch and tuck the puck in to make it 2-0.

The goal was one of four points Schmaltz picked up in the game’s opening 22 minutes.
