Teemu Selanne rocks his Augusta National attire as a caddie for The Masters' Par 3 tournament (Photos)
Teemu Selanne, I want … your life.
In mid-March, the recently-retired Ducks legend was just chilling with some dude named Roger Federer at the BNP Paribas tennis tournament in Indian Wells.
And now, he’s at The Masters, caddying for Finnish golfer Mikko Ilonen in the tournament’s Par 3 contest (s/t Brendan Welch via email). Here is some copy from Ilatehli.fi, translated of course.
Semi-playful race is customary that the caddy works, for example, the player's offspring or a friend.
What is the relation? Who knows? Who cares. Here are some shots of Teemu and his green hat at The Masters:
And ...
Selanne is a guy who enjoys all things cool and awesome in life. Whether it’s fast cars, or golf or funny viral videos about him playing golf and playing hockey. Ilonen was in a group with golf legend Ernie Els. So yeah, Teemu is currently at The Masters on the lush, green grass and hanging out with Els and others. This is seriously happening. Sorry Rory McIlroy, who had Niall Horan of One Direction as his Par 3 tournament caddie. Teemu is way better. One more Teemu photo at Augusta!
Looks like he's giving club advice in that one. And as for retirement, it’s clearly agreeing with the man. Here is the aforementioned shot of Teemu with Federer.
He would not have this opportunity if he was still playing hockey. In fact, he’d be preparing for the playoffs with the Ducks – likely on the fourth line with coach Bruce Boudreau. Just kidding, sort of.
