Back by popular demand, here are your Puck Previews: Spotlighting the key games in NHL action, news and views as well as general frivolity. Make sure to stop back here for the nightly Three Stars when the games are finished.

“Dancing girls entertain fans during the DEL game between Hamburg Freezers and Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers at O2 World on January 25, 2013 in Hamburg, Germany.” In a related story, we’re only covering the DEL and changing the name of the blog to Scheibe Papa.

Preview: Pittsburgh Penguins at Winnipeg Jets, 8 p.m. ET. So after the Jets fans razzed Alex Ovechkin with “Crosby’s Better” chants, what will they come up with for Sidney Crosby’s first visit to Winnipeg as an NHL player? Said Sid: “They’ll find something. Most times, like I said, I dont’ hear it but that one might be hard not to hear.”

Preview: Washington Capitals at New Jersey Devils, 7 p.m. ET. Alex Ovechkin flips from the right side back to the let side for the Caps, who are seeking their first win of the season. Krys Barch makes his Devils debut, and will fight Matt Hendricks (just playing the percentages here).

Preview: Carolina Hurricanes at Buffalo Sabres, 7 p.m. ET. Thomas Vanek is the first Sabres player to open the season with eight points in three games. He’s on pace for a 128-point season. Which is, of course, complete feasible.

Preview: Minnesota Wild at Detroit Red Wings, 7:30 ET. Ryan Suter faces the team he wasn’t going to sign with but that undoubtedly upped his free agent price. Ian White showed off a gruesome cell phone image of his skate-slash injury to reporters after asking them how strong their stomachs were.

Preview: Ottawa Senators at Tampa Bay Lightning, 7:30 p.m. ET. Ben Bishop gets the nod for the Sens vs. Anders Lindback. Ottawa swept Tampa last season.

Preview: Vancouver Canucks at Anaheim Ducks, 10 p.m. ET. Daniel Winnik’s goals streak has conjured visions of Wayne Gretzky for Bruce Boudreau. Well, Gretzky holding a hot fudge sundae; it’s Boudreau after all. Cory Schneider gets the start.
