Seth Jones leaves game, dad says for ‘concussion-like syndrome’

In the first period of Sunday night's game, Nashville's rookie defenseman Seth Jones is sandwiched against the boards by two Chicago Blackhawks.

Jones had his head down and was legally crunched by the two 'Hawks. As the Nashville broadcast went to commercial, the camera caught Jones bringing a hand up to his jaw. He did re-join the play, seeming no worse for wear, and even finished the period.

The wunderkind d-man will not be returning for the remainder of the game. I'm sure the Preds would like to classify his status as vaguely as possible (i.e. upper-body injury), but no one told Seth's dad, Popeye Jones.

In an intermission interview with Fox Sports Tennessee, Popeye revealed his son is out with "concussion-like syndrome". Something tells me Popeye doesn't deal with many head injuries in the NBA.
