Flames dress as The Avengers in Alberta Children's Hospital visit (Photos)

Halloween is one of the best times for hockey players to make charitable appearances while wearing creative looking costumes.

Last year we saw the Boston Bruins dress as characters from the movie “Frozen” in a trip to the Boston Children’s Hospital.

There was Zdeno Chara as a giant pink rabbit on a similar voyage a few years back.

On Thursday, the Calgary Flames dressed as The Avengers at Alberta Children’s Hospital. Looking left to right above, that’s Josh Jooris as Thor, Dougie Hamilton as Iron Man, Micheal Ferland as The Incredible Hulk (don’t make him angry) and what seems to be Sam Bennett as Captain America, though it’s hard to tell his identity due to the costume.

Really heartwarming stuff of Jooris in this shot.

Here’s another picture of the foursome looking spiffy in their super hero outfits.

Also on Thursday, Flames forwards Sean Monahan and Lance Bouma were announced as official ambassadors of Ronald McDonald House – Southern Alberta for this season.

Per the Flames website:

As ambassadors, Bouma and Monahan will donate tickets and make regular visits to the house. Along with the tickets, the selected child and their family will have the opportunity to meet both players following the game. Bouma and Monahan will also commit to attending various events held at the house including Halloween pumpkin carving, games and cooking nights.

Overall it was a very charitable off day for Calgary.
