Ok, no. It wasn't that. It was something a bit better - her husband's unexpected return home from his deployment in Kuwait.

Did it just get a little dusty in here?

The original idea was for Brittany to do the ceremonial puck drop and then be joined by her husband, Army Spc. Joey Daghita; however, plans had to be changed at last minute due to travel delays getting Joey from Alabama (where he's stationed) to Elmira, New York.

This reunion had been in the works for two weeks; there was no way it was going to be cancelled. Event organizers moved the "ceremony" to the first intermission. Joey was driven to the arena by a state trooper who may or may not have exceeded the speed limit the entire way.

The couple had been married only four months before Joey was sent on his third tour of duty in September. They will remain in New York until March 15 when they head back to Fort Rucker in Alabama together.
