Alex Burrows leaps into Blues’ bench for safety, because sure he does (Video)

The Vancouver Canucks were on the power play against the St. Louis Blues on Friday night when defenseman Chris Tanev fired the puck into the zone from the red line. 

Sensing this rocket blast was about to go off, teammate Alex Burrows did what any of us would have done if we were in fact Alex Burrows: He jumped into the Blues’ bench as Tanev shot the puck.

Like, a full-on rock concert stage dive. And then he flopped on his back, skates flailing, trying to get back off the bench. 

Linesman John Grandt had to help Burrows out of the bench as he resembled me when I sit on a chair that breaks, which is obviously always the chair’s fault. Burrows eventually hit the ice; he later assisted on Jared McCann’s third period goal but it wasn’t enough as the Blues won, 4-3.

It wasn't the best night for Burrows when it came to the Blues. Earlier, Scottie Upshall had an embellishment of the year candidate to draw a call against Burrows:

UPDATE: Was Jay Bouwmeester holding Burrows back from getting on the ice? And if so, was this the first time Jay Bouwmeester was interesting?
