Wild finish in Division III game capped off with 14 points in 12 seconds (Video)

One of the wildest finishes in college football this season came from an unlikely place: Brunswick, Maine.

Brunswick is the home of D-III Bowdoin College, who, last Saturday, hosted longtime rival Colby College of Waterville, Maine in the season finale for each team.

With the teams tied at 20 with 12 seconds remaining, Bowdoin quarterback Mac Caputi tossed a 43-yard Hail Mary that receiver Daniel Barone somehow came down with for the go-ahead score. The improbably catch gave Bowdoin a 26-20 lead with just three seconds left in the game. The ensuing extra point was blocked by Colby and returned to the end zone for a two-point play, making the score 26-22.

With Bowdoin kicking off, Colby needed a touchdown for the win. After receiving a squib kick, Colby desperately tried to lateral the ball a la the Stanford band play to try to pull out a miracle, but the final desperation lateral was intercepted by Bowdoin senior linebacker Brian Glazewski and returned for a touchdown. That was the final play of Glazewski’s career and clinched a 32-22 Bowdoin victory.

Fourteen points scored in 12 seconds. You definitely don’t see that every day.
