Wake Forest has new helmets, including an interesting one with the Demon Deacon on it
There's a good reason most teams go with a block letter, symbol, number or something relatively plain on their helmets. Helmets with a huge cartoon mascot generally don't work.
But yet, there's a movement in the ACC towards the style, apparently. Virginia Tech went with the turkey on some alternate helmets last year. Now, in a picture tweeted out by Paul Lukas of the Uni Watch blog, Wake Forest is copying that style in some prototype helmets, with a big logo of the demon deacon mascot on the side of the white helmet.
What, when you wear a helmet like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh?
The other prototype helmet for Wake Forest is your standard fare black matte. Fine. The demon deacon helmet is what stands out. It's just not a good look for a college football helmet.
But hey, maybe we're in the minority on this one. What do you think of the deacon helmet look?
