Utah uses a clown to teach athletes about extra benefits and creep the rest of us out

Utah has a way to keep its athletes from taking extra benefits — creep them out with an xtra normal clown.

Seriously.

The University of Utah compliance office tweeted out this video Wednesday saying it was using it as a way to keep athletes from violating their amateur status. In the video, a sad clown tells a tale of woe. He says he accepted impermissible benefits and now has to pay for clown college himself. It is the weirdest and most random compliance video ever made.

I suppose it's memorable, albeit for its creepiness. But student-athletes will never forget it and will probably be talking about it. I only wish the compliance department had filmed a video of student-athletes watching this hot mess, so we could have all enjoyed their reactions.
