Texas A&M’s Kyle Field will reportedly grow to 102,000 seats with latest expansion
Texas A&M is obviously serious about joining college football's elite.
The Aggies, who haven't won a national championship since 1939, already had been talking about stadium renovations. The latest report said the school is planning to expand its capacity from 83,000 to a more SEC-like 102,000. The news came from Billy Liucci of TexAgs.com.

The school had been discussing a new capacity of between 95,000 to 102,000, but being Texas and all, it went as big as it could.
The entire renovation and expansion of Kyle Field is a huge deal for the Aggies and the future of their football program.
For many reasons, the Aggies are threatening to become the hot team in the state, and this is just another shot across the Longhorns' bow. They have a dynamic coach with a fun offense, a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, a much better conference than the Longhorns can offer recruits, and now plans for a stadium that will be befitting a program with national championship hopes.
The Longhorns will always be the flagship school in the state because of the history, huge alumni and fan base and the brand name. But Texas A&M is a serious threat. The stadium expansion is just another way of making that statement heard loud and clear.
