Random offseason tweet of the day: The AARP wished Urban Meyer a happy 50th birthday

Welcome to our Dr. Saturday feature titled "Random offseason tweet of the day." With real games still months away, coaches and players will be tweeting about non-football-related things as the season approaches. In this space, we'll try to find the funniest and goofiest tweets of the day. If you see something, don't hesitate to send it to us.

Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer reached a milestone on Thursday: he’s celebrating his 50th birthday.

To commemorate the big occasion, the Ohioans who aren’t completely swept up in LeBron James mania took the time to wish Meyer a happy birthday, including the Ohio chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons. Now that he’s 50, coach Meyer is now eligible to join the AARP.

Meyer is entering year three of his tenure with the Buckeyes. He’s won a lot of games, but after being ineligible for postseason play in 2012 and losing the Big Ten title game and Orange Bowl to end the 2013 campaign, Meyer and the Buckeyes are looking to take the next step.

So while it was a thoughtful tweet, I’d guess that Meyer is quite a ways away from retirement. At least when that time comes, he knows the AARP will be there for him.
