President Obama calls Michigan the “school up North” during Ohio State’s commencement (Video)
President Barack Obama delivered the commencement speech at Ohio State on Sunday and endeared the crowd by calling Michigan “the school up North.”
That’s the term coach Urban Meyer and his staff have been using since they arrived on campus a couple years ago. Similarly, coach Brady Hoke at Michigan refers to the Buckeyes as “Ohio.”
Obama is the third sitting president to speak at Ohio State’s graduation — George W. Bush (2002) and Gerald Ford (1974).
