Michael Sam makes the cover of Sports Illustrated (Photo)
Michael Sam can now say he's been on a Sports Illustrated cover.
The Missouri DE is on the front of this week's magazine, which, of course, addresses his announcement Sunday that he's gay. Sam is the first openly gay major college football player and at the moment, will be the first openly gay NFL player when he's drafted.
Former NBA player Jason Collins was on the cover of SI in 2013 when he announced that he is gay. Collins' interview was an exclusive with SI; Sam spoke Sunday with the New York Times and ESPN.
As for the question posed on the cover of the magazine, yes, we think so. Anonymous NFL personnel be damned.
