Johnny Manziel’s reign of awesomeness continues with 79 at Pebble Beach

No one is ever going to accuse Johnny Manziel of being boring. Not only is he an amazing football player in the fall, he seems to turn up at the coolest places in the offseason.

Manziel isn't just the the reigning Heisman Trophy winner with a hot girlfriend an amazing future and apparently pretty well-off parents who love him dearly, the guy can play golf.

Manziel posted a photo of himself on Twitter with his parents after making a birdie on the 18th hole at Pebble Beach to shoot 79 over the weekend. The only thing better than being able to afford a $495 round of golf at Pebble Beach is playing well after doling out the cash.

Of course, Manziel received the usual backlash on Twitter from folks who wonder how he is able to take so many vacations and afford court side seats to NBA games and golf outings on historic courses and still be a student at Texas A&M and team leader, not to mention working on improving as a quarterback.

Turns out, Manziel was in California working with his quarterback coach and took advantage of the opportunity to spend time with his parents while playing Pebble Beach. At least that was his response to one questioner on Twitter who wasn't exactly polite.

Manziel might have a future in golf if this whole star-quarterback thing doesn't work out. He would have to shave some strokes off his game though to compete with the best of the best.

Average scores were slightly under par on the par-72 Pebble Beach course at the AT&T National Pro-Am in February won by Brandt Snedeker.

We've included a video of Johnny golfing in a friendly competition with former teammate Luke Joeckel in December before the College Football Awards show.
