It's never too early for 2016 Heisman odds, is it?

The 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship Game was eight days ago, so let's talk about some Heisman odds for the next season.

The Bovada sportsbook has released some way-too-early odds for the trophy, won by Derrick Henry in 2015. Unsurprisingly, Deshaun Watson is the favorite at 9/2. The only wide receiver listed of the 13 players on Bovada's list is Alabama's Calvin Ridley. Everyone else is either a quarterback or running back.

• QB Deshaun Watson, Clemson 9/2
• RB Leonard Fournette, LSU 5/1
• RB Christian McCaffrey, Stanford 5/1
• QB JT Barrett, Ohio State 10/1
• QB Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma 10/1
• RB Nick Chubb, Georgia 12/1
• RB Dalvin Cook, Florida State 12/1
• RB Royce Freeman, Oregon 12/1
• QB Chad Kelly, Ole Miss 12/1
• RB Samaje Perine, Oklahoma 12/1
• WR Calvin Ridley, Alabama 12/1
• QB Joshua Dobbs, Tennessee 16/1
• QB Brad Kaaya, Miami 25/1

Oklahoma is the only team with two players on the list in Mayfield and Perine. Ohio State was the dominant team on last year's early oddswith Barrett, Braxton Miller, Cardale Jones and Ezekiel Elliott all making appearances.

If we're going to make early bets, we like McCaffrey and Fournette. We're not sure about a Dobbs bet – we're not going to believe the annual Tennessee hype until it is fulfilled – and Kelly is an interesting sleeper pick. Though the Rebels have to win the SEC West for Kelly to win the Heisman. Is Ole Miss going to be the best team in that division?
