Duke coach David Cutcliffe helps Peyton Manning pull a prank on teammate Eric Decker

Duke coach David Cutcliffe has been busy this spring.

Not only has he been leading his Blue Devils, who are coming off their first bowl appearance in 18 years, through spring drills, he also hosted a heap of NFL players this week for some private workouts.

And that has led to Cutcliffe’s participation in some Peyton Manning shenanigans.

Manning, the Denver Broncos quarterback who rehabbed at Duke for his neck injury, joined new receiver Wes Welker, and the Broncos’ other receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker for a little bonding time. Eli Manning also was there.

Upon returning to Denver, Decker was presented with a bill for more than $3,200 for his time at the Blue Devils facilities. The bill, which was itemized and printed on official Duke Athletics invoice paper, charged Decker for things such as laundry and getting his ankles taped.

Cutcliffe authorized the bill and it was delivered courtesy of Manning. Here's the bill, via Decker's Facebook account:

Decker wasn’t exactly thrilled to see he was being charged for what he thought was a free workout session with teammates in North Carolina. But nice he realized the invoice was a joke, he took it all in stride and even posted a picture of it for all to see.

Cutcliffe and the Manning family go way back. Cutcliffe was Manning’s offensive coordinator at Tennessee and Eli Manning’s coach at Ole Miss. So, it was no surprise that Manning, who has been known for more than his fair share of shenanigans, got his good friend in on the joke.

Well done.
