Clemson’s tiger paw painted on South Carolina’s football field

You don't need to do much to fuel the Clemson-South Carolina rivalry, but one ambitious soul with some orange paint has done so.

Someone got into South Carolina's Williams-Brice Stadium and painted the Clemson tiger paw logo on the field, which is no small feat. We're not condoning vandalism, but that's pretty daring.

The Gamecocks are not impressed. Cornerback Victor Hampton posted the picture on his Instagram account with a message.

"It's war they put a paw on our field so #disrespectful," he said on Instagram.

Hampton also posted a picture of a “Cockaboose" train car next to the stadium that had "Go Tigers" spray painted on it. And that does fall under the more serious vandalism category, more than painting some grass orange.

The Associated Press reported that South Carolina officials are investigating the vandalism.

The two teams meet this season on Nov. 30. Both teams are expected to be very good this season, so the traditional rivalry game was already going to be pretty heated. This might add just a little bit more to the fire.
