Central Florida adds new black helmets to newly introduced uniforms (Photo)

As Central Florida prepares for its debut in the American Athletic Conference (formerly the Big East), it’s adding to its snazzy uniform repertoire.

In March, UCF announced new white, gold and black uniforms and Tuesday night, coach George O’Leary showed off the Knights’ new black helmet.

O'Leary showed off two different styles as the school is still deciding whether it wants to go with a stripe across the center of the helmet or one around the back. The one around the back is a little more unique.

While the helmet would look perfect with UCF’s new black uniforms, O’Leary isn’t a big fan of that combination.

"I don't tell them what to wear except black-on-black, they're not wearing black-on-black," O’Leary said, which received boos and laughs from the crowd, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

"Too bad," O'Leary said with a smile. "I'm not listening to you."
