Boise State wins the award for best black helmet (PHOTOS)

Boise State is introducing black uniforms for the first time ever for the Oct. 20 homecoming game against UNLV.

While the jerseys are nice — black with blue and orange trim — the helmets are sick. I mean, probably the best black helmets we've seen all season.

Boise State took the angry bronco design, which is used on the Broncos' other helmets, and made it silver with an orange eye on one side of the helmet and the other side features the player's number. This is slick and, not gonna lie, kinda scary.

Of course, Boise State stays true to the color for which it's known and has bright blue arm sleeves and gloves. Blue and orange are also very prominent on the jersey.

The entire uniform is part of Boise State's effort to black out Bronco Stadium. The university is also asking fans to wear black for the game.

Thanks to Lost Lettermen for the helmet photo.
