Baylor's brand new stadium will feature pregame "sail-gating"
Stadiums across the country are renowned for their tailgating scenes. Every school has traditions, and next season Baylor may be bringing something new to its tailgating scene: sail-gating.
Baylor athletic director Ian McCaw told ESPN Radio’s Craig Smoak Tuesday that there will be 16 “boat slips” available for Baylor fans to tailgate on the water outside the newly built McLane Stadium.

This phenomenon won’t be completely unique to Baylor. Tennessee’s Vol Navy on the Tennessee River outside Neyland Stadium and Washington’s Husky Harbor on Union Bay are also prominent traditions at those respective schools, but it will give Baylor a unique environment among Big 12 schools.
McLane Stadium will be a significant upgrade over Floyd Casey Stadium, where the Bears have played since 1950. McCaw mentioned the wide concourses, additional restrooms and concessions stands and also hosting a number of high school games throughout the year as a way to boost recruiting and help the Waco community.
The $250 million stadium will be open in time for the 2014 season and will seat 45,000.
