Actress Ashely Judd's passion for Kentucky basketball is well known, which made a tweet she posted Saturday a bit surprising to some of her fellow Wildcats fans.
Judd congratulated Louisville coach Rick Pitino on his team's blowout victory over Colorado State and admitted she had picked the Cardinals to win the national title. Problem is, Kentucky and Louisville don't like each other much and neither do the fans who support the traditional powers.
Typical Pitino #1 overall seed NCAA blow out game...Go Cards. I have you winning it all. The rising tide and success liftsall Kentucky!

So what's the deal here?
Judd has made it no secret she is considering running as a democrat for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (KY-R), but she hasn't made an official announcement.
Judd's tweet was definitely crossing party lines so to speak, and that looks like the objective. If she's going to get elected in Kentucky, she's probably going to need a few votes from Cardinals fans. It's good politics.NCAA tournament video from Yahoo! Sports
