An unlikely NBA player had a perfect bracket through Thursday (Photo)

Ricky Rubio may be from Spain, but he apparently knows American college basketball very well.

The Minnesota Timberwolves point guard, who has been playing in the states since 2011, appeared to go 16-for-16 with his NCAA tournament bracket on Thursday. He even nailed the unexpected upsets from Arkansas Little Rock and Yale. (Of course, he did post his bracket at 9:11 p.m. on Thursday, but we'd like to think he's being honest.)

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Rubio's perfect bracket was ruined by the first game Friday when No. 10 seed Syracuse knocked out No. 7 seed Dayton.

But a whopping 99.999 percent of Yahoo! brackets were already busted as of Thursday night, so Rubio is one of the few who still boasted a flawless bracket heading into the second day of tourney action.

It’s probably safe to say Rubio isn’t quite as versed on NCAA hoops as some of his American teammates (just look at some of his abbreviations), but that seems to have worked to his advantage.
