Yahoo Sports Talk Live: Will Jim Harbaugh stay if 49ers make playoffs?

Coach Jim Harbaugh expressed support for his coaching staff and did not address his future with the 49ers on Monday in his first press conference since the night of his team’s disappointing 19-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

When asked if he wants to be back with the 49ers next season, Harbaugh answered, “What I want is to attack this week and get it right.”

The 49ers are 7-5 and have no margin for error to make the playoffs for the fourth time in four seasons under Harbaugh.

His future with the organization has been a hot topic since CEO Jed York and Harbaugh tabled contract talks in July. Harbaugh is in the fourth year of his original five-year, $25 million contract, and his status beyond this season is in doubt.

York issued an apology to 49ers fans in the closing minute of the team’s loss to Seattle on Thanksgiving night. He added that the team’s performance was no acceptable.

Harbaugh did not address his relationship with York or his comment. But he said he would not apologize. He declined to say whether he has spoken to York since the loss, but he did say he has not speak to York about his future over the weekend.

“I’m not going to speculate,” he said. “It’s our job to move on without excuse, without apology and get it right, make it right. That’s our intention.

“I don’t worry about my future. I don’t participate in any of that speculation. I think I have a recessive gene in worrying about my own future.”

Harbaugh said offensive coordinator Greg Roman was still in place as the team’s play-caller and no changes on the coaching staff would occur as the 49ers head into their game Sunday against the Raiders.

“I have unwavering support for all our coaches and our players,” Harbaugh said.

Harbaugh said ownership and management have not asked him to make any changes to the coaching staff.
