Vlasic’s delay of game penalty dooms Sharks

In Game 2 of the Sharks-Kings Western Conference semifinals series, San Jose defenseman Marc-Eduoard Vlasic went through a rollercoaster of emotions. Vlasic was knocked out of the game for a little bit, after a big hit by Kings center Jeff Carter, he then came back and gave the Sharks a 3-2 lead, in the third period, by just sneaking the puck past Jonathan Quick.

Those moments will soon be forgotten because Vlasic committed a killer penalty with just over two minutes left in the third period. The Kings were already down a man thanks to a Brad Stuart tripping minor and were trying to kill off the penalty when Vlasic attempted to clear the puck off of the glass in his own zone, but instead flew the puck right into the crowd. Vlasic received a delay of game minor and the Kings promptly scored two goals in 22 seconds to steal Game 2.
