Should Celtics be worried about bench spat between Bass and Green?

Both Brandon Bass and Jeff Green aren't overly concerned with their talked-about-tiff that occurred in the Celtics' 92-91 loss to Atlanta.

Both were seen on the bench having a heated disagreement - something you seldom see in such a public forum.

After practice on Wednesday, both players addressed the matter with the media.

Bass initially didn't want to talk about it, but later opened up about it.

When asked what it was about, he said, "it wasn't no big deal. It happens."

He added, "it happens plenty of times. It happens all the time. When you want to win that bad things happen. It wasn't a big thing; something small that was easy to correct."

Green echoed similar sentiments when asked about the exchange with Bass.

"It was a miscommunication, that's all," Green said. "We both want to win. You just get frustrated with the process. That's all it was. It wasn't [anything] big."

Celtics coach Brad Stevens had a discussion with both players about it, but Stevens said, "I didn't lose any sleep over it.

He added, "Anybody that's been on a team, knows that those things happen. And I would be concerned about if it wasn't two good people. I think Jeff Green is a great person and I think Brandon Bass is a great person. Both of them have acknowledged it was a little thing, and moved on."

Within the framework of any team, tempers are bound to flare up in the heat of battle at some point.

However, it's seldom seen in bad teams that have embraced losing.

Clearly, the Celtics aren't one of those teams.

And if you weren't sure, the tiff between Green and Bass should serve as proof.

"We're trying to figure out a way to win. Like any team, you're going to bump heads," Green said. "Somebody might see it one way. Somebody might see it another. But what it all boils down to is we're both trying to figure a way to win."
