Video: Tyreke Evans destroys Gary Neal with a dunk

The Sacramento Kings and their fans haven't had much to cheer about this season. The team is bound for the lottery at 23-55, supposed franchise building blocks Tyreke Evans(notes) and DeMarcus Cousins(notes) have proven themselves emotionally unable to lead, and, to top it all off, the Maloof brothers are looking to move the franchise to Orange County this offseason. Things are terrible, and they may only get worse.

In a dire situation like this one, it's best to focus on the positives, wherever they may exist. The play above certainly qualifies. In the first quarter of Wednesday night's 124-92 blowout road loss to the Spurs, the enigmatic Evans gave everyone the clear highlight of the NBA night with an emphatic dunk on, over, and through Gary Neal(notes). It won't make everything better for Kings fans, but at least they'll all now have a fun memory of this difficult year.

One more note: Neal, in case you forget, was also the victim of a J.R. Smith obliteration -- still my choice for Dunk of the Year -- several months ago. Neal has had a solid rookie year for San Antonio and seems headed for a reasonably lengthy NBA career after several seasons in Europe. But we should perhaps remember his season best for his supreme generosity, for he allowed himself to be embarrassed for two of the year's best highlights. What a saint.
