Dwight Howard gives Chris Quinn a crummy Christmas gift

Five quick points about this clip of Dwight Howard(notes) throwing a basketball off of Chris Quinn's(notes) head during the fourth quarter of the Orlando Magic's 123-101 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night:

1. DOINK!

2. Sometimes it feels like Chris Quinn's destiny is to be the NBA's answer to Squeak Scolari from "BASEketball" — the runty little dude that the other guys keep around to rip on and use as a source of psyche-out material. And then other times, you remember that Chris Quinn is making $804,131 to play basketball for the San Antonio Spurs this season, and you're like, "I'm sure he's cool with where he's at in life."

3. If Dwight Howard's save had hit about two inches lower, this would be a way, way harder thing to make fun of.

4. I know you've said you're done with the Slam Dunk Contest, Dwight, but let me just put this idea out there: Throw on some goggles, put a wig on Quinn, and remix the Amar'e Stoudemire(notes)-Steve Nash classic off-the-backboard-header-180 from the '05 contest. The NBA world will go bananas, apples and plums for that. Plus, more Chris Quinn in our lives, which is all anyone really wants.

5. Big ups to Kevin Harlan for his call of the mishap. "That's using your head" is some classic old man comedy. Really, textbook "$#*! My Dad Says"-caliber stuff, KH. Anyone who dislikes that has no regard for humor life. BOOM.
