Watch Lavar Johnson knock out Joey Beltran

If you don't have Fuel TV, you didn't see Lavar Johnson's Knockout of the Night. The first Strikeforce heavyweight to cross over the UFC used crushing uppercuts to take out Joey Beltran.

Johnson's last two bouts were submission losses in Strikeforce: Challengers, but on Saturday's UFC on Fox 2 card, he showed that his striking is ready for the UFC.

Its funny how people 8itch about free UFC, but the same people will watch a 3 hour baseball game that ends in a 1-0 score and not complain.

While I do agree with you, a 1-0 baseball can be entertaining, and usually won't last 3 hours.

You complain about "boring" fights so much than go watch WWE !!!!!! This is REAL s*** and you can not always dictate how a fight will go !!!! YOU PEOPLE ARE NOT TRUE MMA FANS !!

Agreed! I couldn't have said it better

so if we see a great fight we can call it "great" but if we see a boring fight(s) like all 3 of the main card fights, and call them what they are then we are suddenly not "true mma fans"??? gtfo with that.

I was talking about people who complain about free fights. I think its pointless to complain about a boring fight if its free.

The Octagon floor was unbelievably slippery. Phil Davis looked moved as if he were on ice and you could see in the video the difficulty Lavar Johnson had getting his feet planted so he could put power into his punches as he put Joey Beltran away.

He knocked out someone who no one else could even stagger. No one is saying he's the next big thing but he sure can hit.

Obvious:1) The FOX fights were kind of a letdown. 2) People that complain about free stuff are entitled #$%$

If you don't like the UFC, don't watch it. It is by far the greatest sport to come to fruition in my lifetime. It is freaking awesome!!!!

Whoa the only thing keeping Beltran on his feet in the end were Johnson's uppercuts! Lavar was dribbling Joey's head like a basketball.
    • Rurik  •  Los Angeles, California  •  3 months ago
Joey would have been knocked out eventually as with Cain Velasquez you have to have a different strategy, other than toe to toe, against bigger strikers!

Stoked to see a good ol Madtown knockout!!! Way to go Lavar!

Pit this guy against somebody who matters and then we will see if he is relevant. "Beltran" is less impressive as James "The Sandman" Irving or Jason Lambert.

What funny references, but I'm going to to have to disagree with james. He's won one fight in his last 7 fights.

Wow, I've never seen someone kept standing by punches before. Impressive KO, the guy's got a great right hand.

    • Kaitlen Madison  •  San Diego, California  •  3 months ago
wow he punches so slow like hes underwater. He would be no match against faster power hitters like JDS, Velasquez, and Overeem.
