'Shoe on a stick' training proves to be deja vu for Nelson

Roy Nelson won't win every one of his UFC fights but we're all in for plenty of laughs along the way. UFC.com posted a behind-the-scenes look at Nelson's activities before the Stefan Struve fight. The video is hilarious and features a silly moment (3:26 mark) that actually foreshadowed the way he'd finish Struve.

His trainer partner stood on a chair to try and replicate the Dutchman's 6-feet-11 frame. Then he put a glove and a shoe on the end of some sticks and jabbed away at the short fat guy. Nelson does a masterful job of bobbing and weaving before he lands a vicious overhand right. Look familiar? Nelson finished Struve in 39 seconds Wednesday night at Ultimate Fight Night 21.

Let's hope Nelson patents the "shoe on a stick method" of training. "Big Country" needs to cash in on this gem. The poor guy already flopped with his Burger King ploy.
