DaShawn Hand shows what its like to be recruited by another recruit

Ever want to see what it's like when one of the nation's top recruits goes to the end of the earth to try and convince a counterpart that he should sign with the same program?

The practice occasionally pops up on Twitter, but rarely is it as open as what is unfolding with Jabrill Peppers, the star running back and cornerback at Paramus Catholic High (Paramus, N.J.), and Da'Shawn Hand, the Rivals.com top overall recruit out of Woodbridge High (Woodbridge, Va.).

Peppers -- who is projected to be a star cornerback in college -- has committed to play football at Michigan, and he's desperate to ensure that Hand follows suit. Michigan is one of three schools that Peppers is still considering, along with Florida and Alabama, but everyone will have to wait for Hand to decide where he fits in best.

The ongoing recruiting continues in front of a troubling backdrop, with Woodbridge still reeling from the alleged cold-blloded killing of one of Hand's teammates and friends, Kenny Diaz. See how it all plays out in the latest edition of First and 17 above, and be sure to check out the entire series right here.
