The scene: the Viking Classic, Day 1. The golfer: Michael Thompson. The hole: the 165-yard par-3 15th. Everything's in place for a memorable shot ... except the ball, which doesn't seem to want to get with the program:
Man, that's brutal. Still, as it turned out, Thompson finished the tournament at 5-under and pocketed a check for $7,488. If he'd hit that shot? An extra $150 or so added to the check. So, yeah, probably not that big a deal. But that ball's still a jerk for not going to its home.
