Lee Westwood makes a bomb for eagle to take the outright lead at the British Open

Considering what Andy Murray did at Wimbledon and what Lee Westwood is currently doing at the British Open, this could be the summer of the Brits in the sporting world.

Westwood, who has finished second or third in seven major championships without a win, jumped to the top of the leaderboard with this fantastic eagle putt on the par-5 5th hole. The putt broke at least 20 feet, but he gave it plenty of room and watched as it curled back towards the cup, dropping for the three and putting him atop the leaderboard early in the third round of the British Open.

There is plenty of golf left, but if he goes on to win this thing that putt will definitely be one we look back on as a big help to his Open triumph.
