Ivan Rodriguez spurned Diamondbacks’ interest

Ivan Rodriguez played in only 44 games for the Washington Nationals last year, the fewest number of games he's played in a season since he entered the league way back in 1991.

CBSSports.com has it that the 40-year-old free agent "has fielded a few inquiries," including from the Arizona Diamondbacks, but he seeks a job with a chance for real playing time.

In his 21 seasons, Pudge has batted .296 with 311 homers, 572 doubles and 1,332 RBIs. Last year, the 14-time All-Star batted .218 with two homers and 19 RBIs.

In his career, he's played for six teams, won seven Silver Slugger awards and 13 Gold Gloves, and helped the Florida Marlins win a World Series in 2003.
