NASCAR drivers will struggle with horsepower reduction in 2015

This week’s Goodyear tire test at Charlotte Motor Speedway is a chance for NASCAR’s tire manufacturer to see how the new 2015 rules package will impact tire wear on intermediate ovals, which make up the majority of the schedule.

But every team in the Sprint Cup garage will also have to find a way to make the new rules package work for them. Horsepower and downforce on the cars will be reduced significantly as part of the package, and a ban on all private team testing will likely help some teams and hinder others.

NASCAR America's Parker Kligerman and Jeff Burton discussed what they expect to see as teams get used to the new rules.
