Zack Collins, Bo Naylor homer to lead Columbus Clippers past Iowa Cubs

Sunday's game: Columbus 10, Iowa 7

Recap: Zack Collins and Bo Naylor homered and Chris Roller had three RBIs as the Clippers won their third consecutive game. Columbus took a 9-3 lead in the eighth inning on Naylor's two-run homer and held on, with Daniel Schneemann scoring Micah Pries on a sacrifice fly for a 10-5 lead. Iowa's David Bote hit a two-run homer in the ninth. Clippers starter Daniel Norris allowed three runs on seven hits in 4⅓ innings.

Attendance: 5,342

Of note: Pitcher Zach Plesac was designated for assignment by the Cleveland Guardians to make room on the 40-man roster for pitcher Triston McKenzie to be activated from the 60-day injured list. To make room for McKenzie on the active roster, the Guardians optioned pitcher Michael Kelly to the Clippers.
