Yankees, Orioles announce lineups for series opener; Aaron Hicks returns to the Bronx

The Yankees return home as they finish the first half of the season with seven games at Yankee Stadium this week. The homestand starts with a three-game set against the Baltimore Orioles beginning Monday at 7:05 p.m.

New York (46-38, 3rd in AL East), went just 3-3 on last week's road trip, though the highlight was clearly Domingo German's perfect game against the Oakland Athletics on June 28. It was the 24th perfect game in MLB history and the fourth in the history of the Yankees.

Even though German is making his first start since the perfect game, all eyes won't be on the 30-year-old Monday night, but instead in the opposing dugout.

Monday night's matchup will be must-see TV as Aaron Hicks returns to Yankee Stadium for the first time as an opponent. He will be batting seventh and playing left field for Baltimore in the series opener.

Hicks was designated for assignment by the Yankees on May 20 and appeared in his first game for the Orioles on May 31. While he's cooled off since his blazing hot start with Baltimore, the 33-year-old is still outperforming his play in his seven full seasons in the Bronx. In a recent 1-for-17 slump, Hicks delivered a clutch, game-tying RBI single in the eighth inning in a 2-1 Orioles' victory Sunday afternoon.

While he might be winning over fans in Baltimore, you'll likely see a much different reaction from Yankees fans when Hicks steps up to the plate or takes the field.

Here are the lineups for tonight's game:
