How are wrestling teams performed in busy weekend of tournaments

EAU CLAIRE -- Area wrestling teams put together solid performances this past weekend on the mats.

Centreville sixth at Burton Richards Invitational

The Centreville Bulldogs wrestled to sixth place at the Burton Richards Invitational held on Saturday in Eau Claire. The Bulldogs finished with 80 points at the invitational, which featured 20 teams and was won by Decatur with 230 team points.

Centreville had four podium finishes for the day.

Rocke Hamilton wrestled to third place at 120 pounds. Peyton Schuring-Harris also claimed third place (285).

Finishing fourth was Braxton Harker (138) and Noah Brooks (150).

Mark Bosse Memorial

The Three Rivers wrestling team finished second overall at the Hart Mark Bosse Memorial tournament held on Saturday. The Wildcats piled up 252 team points, finishing just behind perennial powerhouse Whitehall, which garnered 269 points at the event.

Eleven Wildcats finished the day on the podium, including five flight winners.

Claiming championships on the day were Brody Morrill at 106 pounds, Jak Monroe (120), Ayden Keller (132), Louis Smith (165) and Jaxon Smith (190). Finishing second in their respective weight classes were Ethan Moreland (126) and Jeremiah Detwiler (175).

Kale Parr (113) and Landon Moreland (157) both finished third.

Sammy Reynolds was fifth at 285, Joseph Anglemyer came in sixth place at 215.

White Pigeon wins Jackie Besser Memorial

Caleb Lane earned his 100th career win at the Jackie Besser Memorial wrestling tournament held on Saturday. The Chiefs won all five of their matches, beating Loy Norrix 60-20, Bellevue 78-6, Vicksburg 42-37, Rainbow 84-0 and Jonesville 57-18.

Lane (175) was one of seven Chiefs to finish with a 5-0 record on the day.

Mazzy Lambert (113), Drew Johnson (120), Maddix Jancasz (132), Evan Rudloff (157), Seth Miller (215) and Chaz Underwood (285) all won five matches on the day as well.

Putting up 4-1 days on the mats were Hunter Pant (126) and Jesse Fielis (144).

Bronson at Coldwater Classic

The Bronson wrestling team won four matches at the Coldwater Classic held on Saturday. The Vikes' lone loss came against Chelsea, 36-34.

Bronson did pick up wins over Otsego 59-15, Coldwater 69-3, Sturgis 54-22 and a "mixed team" 70-6.

Gabe Erwin (150), Layne Knisley (157), Carson Norton (175), Connor Harvey (190) and Jacob Britten (215) all went 5-0 for the day. Finishing with 4-1 records were Owen Kimmons (126) and Caleb Harvey (138).

Constantine fifth at Marquette Challenge

The Constantine wrestling team made the lengthy trip up to the Upper Peninsula this past weekend to take part in the Marquette Challenge.

The Falcons scored 147 team points and finished fifth overall out of 24 teams competing. Pulaski won with 198 points, Mason came in second with 185.

There were six Falcons who flew to podium finishes on the day.

Bennett VandenBerg led the way, he won all three of his matches and claimed first place at 285.

Bear Geibe grappled to second place at 132. Finishing third were Koltin Gross (138), Brody Jones (157) and Dathan Smith (175). Ashtin Forrester (106) finished in sixth place for the tournament.
