The Women’s Cup coming to CPKC Stadium in the summer

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — CPKC Stadium, the home of the Kansas City Current, will host The Women’s Cup (TWC) matches this summer, according to a CPKC stadium news release.

The Women’s Cup will consist of two four-team tournaments of top clubs from Europe, South America and Africa facing the best NWSL teams for a prize of $100,000 in each bracket.

One tournament will be played inside CPKC Stadium, while the other will be held in Racing Louisville FC’s Lynn Family Stadium. The winners of each will face off in the “new” TWC Global Series Finals held at a neutral site in February 2025.

This is the fourth year for The Women’s Cup. The first two editions were played in the U.S. and the third in Europe in 2023. This year’s event follows a TWC Colombia tournament held in February in Cali, Colombia.

“We are delighted to bring a pair of world-class tournaments back to The Women’s Cup’s original home in the U.S.” CEO of The Women’s Cup, J.P. Reynal said.

“We can’t wait to see eight of the top teams in the world compete in two of the best facilities in our sport. Soccer fans in both Kansas City and Louisville show up for their teams, and we know a competition like this, with great clubs from around the world, will be so fun for all of us to see.”

The release states that teams participating and kickoff times will be released in the coming weeks. Tickets for both tournaments will be available starting the day of that announcement at The Women’s Cup website.
