Wolves 0-1 Bournemouth: Cherries boost top 10 hopes

Bournemouth beat Wolves 1-0 and moved into the top half of the Premier League after a tight clash at Molineux.

WATCH FULL REPLAY

The Cherries were excellent in the first half and Antoine Semenyo gave them a deserved lead as Wolves couldn't handle their direct, fluid attacks.

Miles Kerkez was sent off in the second half as Wolves pushed hard to get an equalizer and they thought they grabbed one on two occasions. First, Hwang Hee-chan headed home but referee Stuart Attwell (who hasn't been in the news at all this week...) was asked by VAR to look at a possible foul in the build up and disallowed the goal. Wolves then scored in the 99th minute but Max Kilman was just offside and VAR checked the call and it stood as Gary O'Neil was left puffing out his cheeks once again.

With the win (their first in four) Bournemouth jump above Wolves in the table and have 45 points. Wolves remain on 43 points after a run of no wins from their last seven games in all competitions.

The hosts huffed and puffed late on but the damage was done in the first half as Bournemouth were excellent and just about held on after Kerkez was sent off.

Kilman scores in the 99th minute but he’s offside... VAR is having a look

Have Wolves equalized in the 99th minute through their skipper Max Kilman?

VAR check and it’s a red card for Kerkez

Milos Kerkez slides in and catches Doherty and VAR is having a good look at this one... he's off! Kerkez is shown a red card after catching Doherty with a lunge. Both players were fully committed but Kerkez got his timing all wrong and it was a bad tackle. Bournemouth down to 10 players for the final 10 minutes plus stoppage time. Can they hold on?

Hwang thought it had equalized by the ref is called to the monitor and rules it out

Oh wow. Wolves will be fuming with VAR again. Semedo whips in a brilliant cross which Hwang powers home with a fine header. But with Molineux celebrating, there is a delay for a VAR check and a possible foul. They ask the referee Stuart Attwell (he's had a quiet week) to go over to the monitor and he sees a foul from Matheus Cunha in the build up to the cross. He lashes out with a flick to the face of a Bournemouth defender but it looks pretty soft. Gary O'Neil is asking plenty of questions of the fourth official. And rightly so.

Semenyo has a shot deflected wide then Senesi bobbles it wide

It is all Bournemouth and Semenyo has a shot deflect off Toti Gomes and it goes out for a corner. The corner comes in and Senesi then reacts first to the loose ball but he bobbles a good chance wide.

Wolves have been better but Bournemouth look sharper

Doherty came on at half time and is getting into some dangerous areas in attack but there's just no cutting edge to Wolves right now. At the other Bournemouth are creating glorious chances galore. Kluivert is the latest to be denied by Sa as Wolves are rocking defensively.

Half time: Wolves 0-1 Bournemouth

The visitors lead and they are so direct every time they get forward. What a job Iraola is doing. Now, can they build on this lead?

Bournemouth are ahead at Wolves! - Wolves 0-1 Bournemouth (37th minute)

Semenyo scores the opener for the Cherries and they deserve it. Iraola's side have looked the more dangerous.

Solanke close to an opener

Bright start for Bournemouth and Solanke has a great chance but can’t finish. He’s in tremendous form and looks so dangerous every single week
