Haley Jones had a life moment on Monday. She missed another one along the way.

The Stanford guard was selected No. 6 overall in the WNBA Draft by the Atlanta Dream. When her name was called, she celebrated with her family before taking the stage to be introduced. She understandably and appropriately left her phone behind, choosing instead to live in the moment.

It turns out that she missed a call from her new head coach Tanisha Wright in the process. Wright let her know on Twitter.

Since Jones was ignoring her phone, well — she didn't get the tweet either. She was informed of Wright's effort to reach her during her post-draft media interview.

"Coach, if you're listening, or if you're gonna see this interview, I'm so sorry," Jones said when informed of Wright's tweet. "I literally got called, didn't even think to grab my phone. I hugged my mom and dad and my brother. So when I get back to my phone, I'll call her back immediately.

"That is like the worst first impression to have, missing a call from your new boss. So, the second I get to my phone — no matter how many missed calls I have, missed texts — calling her immediately."

Jones wasn't the only one to miss Wright's call. Wright apparently had trouble connecting with South Carolina forward and No. 8 pick Laeticia Amihere. She likewise hit Amihere up on Twitter.

In fact, this appears to be thing for Wright who seems to get a kick out of calling out new Dream players on missed draft-night connections. Last year's No. 1 pick, Rhyne Howard, chimed in with her own draft-night experience while exchanging friendly barbs with her head coach.

And not to worry. It turns out that Jones was eventually able to connect with Wright.

As for Amihere, it wasn't immediately clear. But she was definitely excited about joining her new team.
