A Wisconsin Badger is the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week

Wisconsin safety Hunter Wohler was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for Week 3 earlier today.

The Badger defender, I’d argue the team’s best, finished the contest with one sack, one highlight interception and a team-leading 10 tackles. Through three weeks the rising star has now recorded 34 tackles, one sack and two interceptions.

Wohler was one of the few bright spots on defense for the Badgers yesterday. Despite a final tally of five interceptions and six total turnovers, the Georgia Southern Eagles totaled 455 total yards, 383 of which came through the air.

The unit has a lot to clean up with Big Ten play set to begin Friday night at Purdue.
