Wisconsin Athletics ranked in top 10 of Learfield Cup

The Learfield Cup is based on an annual accumulation of points by an individual school’s athletic achievements, ranking the nation’s top programs. Through the winter sports season, the Badgers are ranked 10th in the country.

Wisconsin had a strong winter session, especially the women’s hockey team, earning the Badgers 100 points in the cup standings with the National Championship win over Ohio State. As a result of women’s hockey along with the track teams and swimming and diving squads, Wisconsin is up to 624.75 points, 378.25 of which came in the winter.

The Badgers’ point total ranks them fourth in the Big Ten as well, sitting behind Ohio State (#1 nationally, 1017.25 points), Penn State (#3 nationally, 802.00 points) and Michigan (#5 nationally, 737.25 points).
