Omro, Winneconne, Lourdes Academy all advance to regional semifinals; Ripon, Valley Christian both conclude their seasons

Here are the results from Tuesday night's WIAA regional quarterfinal girls basketball games.

DIVISION 3

No. 5 Omro 67, No. 12 Little Chute 28

OMRO - The Foxes (17-8, 10-4 Flyway) cruised to a blowout victory thanks to stifling second half defense that limited the winless Mustangs (0-24, 0-18 North Eastern) to just nine points.

Omro advances to a regional semifinal where they'll travel to take on No. 4-seed Wrightstown (14-9, 13-5 North Eastern) on Friday.

Julia Koch led the Foxes with 20 points and Madi Brooks added 13 for Omro. Maya Kasuboski chipped in with nine points and Ava Koch had eight.

Addison Daelke scored 12 points to lead Little Chute.

No. 6 Winneconne 60, No. 11 Two Rivers 25

WINNECONNE - The Wolves (12-12, 6-6 East Central) held the Purple Raiders (1-23, 0-14 Eastern Wisconsin) to just nine first half points on their way to a 35-point blowout victory.

Winneconne advances to a regional semifinal where they'll travel to challenge familiar foe, No. 3-seed Berlin (13-10, 5-7 East Central), on Friday.

Last week's Oshkosh area Athlete of the Week, Grace Mitchell, scored a game-high 15 points and had five steals to lead the Wolves and Harper Neace added 12 points for Winneconne.

Kaylee Jensen led Two Rivers with 14 points and six rebounds.

No. 7 Watertown Luther Prep 48, No. 10 Ripon 44

WATERTOWN - The Tigers' (7-18, 2-10 East Central) season came to an end at the hands of the Phoenix (13-11, 11-5 Midwest Classic).

Eleanor Wendorff led Watertown Luther Prep with 19 points and Harper Brands added 12 for the Phoenix.

No. 2 Lourdes Academy 97, No. 15 Tri-County 23

OSHKOSH - The No. 6-ranked Lady Knights (21-3, 14-0 Trailways-East) nearly reached triple digits in a blowout victory over the Penguins (5-18, 1-11 Central Wisconsin-South) by an astounding 74 points.

Lourdes Academy advances to a regional semifinal where they'll host, No. 10-seed Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah (10-15, 3-9 Big East-North), on Friday. The Resorters defeated the No. 7-seed, Valley Christian (15-9, 9-5 Trailways-East), in a regional quarterfinal.

The Lady Knights led by nearly 50 at the break, 65-17, and then proceeded to shut down Tri-County in the second half by giving up only six points. Their relentless defensive effort amounted to 27 steals and eight blocks as a team.

Hailee Bauer and Delaney Ruedinger had 16 and 15 points, respectively, in the first half on their way to a co-game high 21 points each.

Bauer connected on five of Lourdes' 12 three-pointers, including four in the opening period, while collecting a team-high nine assists and six steals. Ruedinger also chipped in three steals and a pair of blocks.

Ella Slusarski added 12 points, five steals and Hannah McDowell rounded out the Lady Knights with 10.

Skye Hopkins led Tri-County with nine points.

No. 10 Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah 59, No. 7 Valley Christian 47

OSHKOSH - In their return to the WIAA tournament for the first time in almost 12 years, the Warriors' (15-9, 9-5 Trailways-East) season came to an end just as it started, with a loss to the Resorters (10-15, 3-9 Big East-North).

In similar fashion to how things went in the season opener, the two teams battled closely in the first half before Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah pulled away after the break to win convincingly.

Anna Y. Giannopoulos eclipsed the 1000 career points milestone for Valley Christian by scoring 30 on the night, including four 3-pointers and 8-of-12 shooting at the free throw line, along with grabbing 15 rebounds with a pair of blocks and assists each to lead the Warriors with a double-double in the final game of her high school career.

Lizzie Fink added nine points for Valley Christian.

Coryn Fromm led Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah with a game-high 37 points after scoring 40 against Valley Christian on opening night for the Warriors.
