Who's heading to Jacksonville? Meet Volusia-Flagler's FHSAA track and field qualifiers

The finest of margins will separate Florida's fastest runners, strongest throwers and springiest jumpers this week. Podium places could come down to a hundredths of a second, or a mere couple of inches.

The FHSAA's track and field championships descend upon Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, a four-day athletics extravaganza beginning with Class 1A on Wednesday. Class 2A's competitors take the stage Thursday, followed by their counterparts in Classes 3A on Friday and 4A on Saturday.

More than two-dozen athletes will represent Volusia and Flagler counties, hopeful of setting new personal-best marks and/or bringing home coveted individual championships. Atlantic javelin thrower Preston Kuznof and DeLand pole vaulter Kylie Neira are favored to defend their respective titles, while Flagler Palm Coast shot-put specialist Colby Cronk, New Smyrna Beach discus thrower Tim Beauchamp, Mainland hurdler Emmanuel Yisrael and Spruce Creek's distance-running twins Mackenzie and Arianna Roy also find themselves in position to contend for the top prize.
