Where Vanderbilt baseball stands in latest 2024 NCAA Tournament bracket projections

Vanderbilt baseball is not listed as an NCAA regional host in the latest projections after dropping a series to Mississippi State.

Both D1Baseball and Baseball America project the Commodores (32-13, 11-10 SEC) as the No. 2 seed in the regional hosted by Indiana State. The Sycamores were the projected No. 11 seed by D1Baseball and No. 13 seed by Baseball America.

In both cases, that regional was paired with the regional hosted by North Carolina for a potential super regional.

The other two teams included in the D1Baseball projection were No. 3 seed Purdue and No. 4 seed Austin Peay. In Baseball America, it was No. 3 seed Louisville and No. 4 seed Bowling Green.

If Vanderbilt were to play Indiana State, it would be a rematch of a game from earlier this season. The Commodores defeated the Sycamores, 20-4, at Hawkins Field in late February. Vanderbilt is also scheduled to play Louisville on May 7.
